Rolleston Primary making Battery Powered Cars ( Group 3)
In Term 3 for 2020 Rolleston Primary were given the task of designing and manufacturing a battery powered car.
The project evolved processing a piece of lazer cut acrylic plastic into a chassis, adding wheels, axles and a drive system that would be powered by an electric motor. Complete a simple electric circuit with a battery and switch, finally to create an individual mounting system to hold the motor in place.
The students then raced their vehicles over a short distance to see which car stayed in a straight line and could travel the fastest .
